Writing Effective User Experience Email Sequences- FinTech

I recently completed a project for a fintech brand where my responsibilities included composing all email sequences for the onboarding process, facilitating user interactions, and crafting customized responses for various user actions.

This project was truly fulfilling, and I wanted to share my insights.

To begin, it's important to recognize that writing compelling user experience emails is fundamental for capturing and maintaining your audience's interest. In this article, I'll touch upon my experiences and provide valuable insights on key considerations when creating outstanding UX emails.

Know Your Audience:

First things first, It is essential to understand your audience. That is to say, ‘Who are your users? and what they expect from your emails. I asked these questions and it helped me tailor my email subject and body to a particular style and tone of writing.

Clear Subject Lines

The subject line is the first thing users see, so make it clear, concise, and compelling. Avoid clickbait tactics and focus on accurately representing the email's content. A compelling subject line can significantly increase your email open rates.

Example; Subject: Password Update Confirmation

Dear [User's Name],

Your password for [ App Name ] has been successfully updated. If you did not make this change, please contact our support team immediately to secure your account.

Personalization

Personalize your emails by addressing recipients by their names and tailoring content based on their preferences or past interactions.

Example; Dear [User's Name],

Mobile Responsiveness

A significant portion of email opens occurs on mobile devices. Ensure your emails are mobile-responsive, with a clean layout that adapts to different screen sizes. Test your emails on various devices to guarantee a seamless experience.

Consistency

Maintain a consistent brand identity in your emails.

  1. Be consistent in your endnote. Example; Best regards,

    [Your Consistent Name]

    Support XXX

  2. Be consistent in your use of your brand colours, fonts, and logo to create a recognizable and trustworthy email design.

Consistency helps users associate your emails with your brand.

Compelling Content

Whether your email covers topics like "how to log in" or "how to sign up," ensure it's both captivating and informative. Ensure the content immediately addresses your users' needs and interests, whether they're skimming or reading in detail.

Clear Call-to-Action (CTA)

I found the process of crafting User Experience emails for this fintech app particularly enjoyable as it resonated with my own experiences as an application user. To accomplish this task successfully, I collaborated closely with a senior developer, ensuring I asked questions for each email I composed.

We leveraged Google Workspace [Docs and Meet] as our collaborative tool to exchange ideas throughout the project.

In conclusion, it's vital to remember that user experience encompasses every facet of interaction with your brand. Crafting effective UX emails plays a pivotal role in nurturing enduring customer relationships and ultimately, propelling business success. Therefore, it's crucial not to underestimate the significance of this aspect.
